Chicago Hotels Overview
Chicago has been affectionately dubbed the "Windy Cindy" for the wind that blows through the town and between the skyscrapers.
America's third largest city is a Midwestern Mecca offering culture and business opportunities equivalent to New York.
The city is famous for it's above-ground (elevated) "El" Trains, double crust "Chicago Style" pizza and significant
Jazz tradition.
Chicago also lays claim to being the American city with most neighborhoods. Of these neighborhoods, four stand out
as the best options when seeking a hotel - The Loop, North Michigan Avenue, Gold Coast and Lincoln Park. The Loop is
the business center of Chicago which is home to a few great Chicago hotels such as
Palmer House, or the
Congress Plaza Hotel.
North Michigan Avenue is the shopping district and home to tourist theme resturaunts such as the Hard Rock Café and
the Haunted hause themed Jeckyll and Hyde Club. Staying in this area will cost you,
but you can find weekend rates and more moderate prices at Chicago hotels such as the
Radisson or the
Lenox Suites.
For those willing to spend for elegance, the
Four Seasons Hotel
is always a great choice. The Gold Coast is the mark of wealthy residence in Chicago. A hotel of choice in this area is the
Omni Ambassador East Hotel .
Finally, Lincoln Park is a thriving and eclectic community that borders the park of the same name on the east, Ashland
Avenue on the west, and North and Diversey Avenues. The
City Suites Hotel
is a good choice when seeking accommodations in this part of town.
