Indianapolis is perhaps most famous for hosting the Indianapolis 500 - one of the most important racing events and one of the most famous race tracks in the Country. The city's car-oriented culture doesn't just stop there however. The city is known as the "Crossroads of America" because more highways and Interstates intersect in this city than any other place in the Country. Moreover, over 50% of the US population is accessible to the city within a day's drive, including Chicago, which is literally just across the state border.
