Knoxville Hotels Overview

The city of Knoxville is a small and spread out town with a quirky personality. The city has seen several high profile events in recent years such as the World's Fair of 1982, from which the cities Sun Sphere remains, and yet there is only one Starbucks in the entire city - a virtual throwback for residents of most American towns.

There are three main parts of the city: Downtown - home to the University of Tennessee, the World's Fairgrounds and Convention Center, West Town, the mostly upscale residential part of town, and the McGee Airport vicinity. 20 miles up the road is Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge in the Smokey Mountains, one of America's most frequented National Parks.
