Monterey Hotels Overview
Monterey Bay is one of the most picturesque parts of the California Coastline. The area is located about 100 miles
South of San Francisco and stretches south to Big Sur and is home to the towns of Forest Grove, Pebble Beach, Carmel
and Monterey. The area is perhaps most famous for the Pebble Beach Golf Course, the Cannery, and having
Clint Eastwood as the mayor of Carmel.
If you are interested in Monterey hotels, the best choice by far is the
Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa
(pricey at $200-$300 a night), which flaunts what is arguably the best location, right on Cannery Row. The
Spindrift Inn
is also a good choice. In the Pacific Grove area the
Lighthouse Lodge
is always nice. And in Carmel, be sure to checkout
Highlands Inn, the
Quail Lodge Resort, and, (further out) the
Carmel Valley Ranch Resort.
