Naples is located in the Southwest corner of Florida and is roughly 100 miles west from Miami and Fort Lauderdale. A scenic drive through the Everglades along 'Alligator Ally' (US Interstate 75) will take you to Naples, from Fort Lauderdale.
The city is known for its beautiful canals as canal-side buildings, reminiscent of Naples Italy. Naples is one of the more ritzy parts of Florida, featuring a myriad of upscale shopping and high-rise condos along the Southern shoreline down by 5th Avenue. If you are a fisherman, you will delight at the beautiful 1000 foot-long pier on the Gulf. If you are a nature lover, be sure to visit the Cambier Park or the nearby Corkscrew Swamp Wildlife Preserve - where alligators and bald eagles are a frequent site.
