Seattle Hotels Overview
Seattle has become best known in recent years for it's explosive "grunge" music scene as well as the success of
companies such as Microsoft, Boeing, InfoSpace, Amazon, Expedia.com, Starbucks, Eddie Bauer, and Uhaul. Geographically,
Seattle is an exceptionally beautiful city which sits on the Puget Sound and amongst a series of freshwater lakes.
On warm summer mornings you can catch a view of the city's skyline with snow-capped Mount Rainer in the background
(shown above). To the East is some exceptional hiking and the gorgeous Snoqualmie waterfall made famous by the TV show, Twin Peaks.
To the West are Alkai Beach and the San Juan islands. Just to the North is the Ivy-thatched University of Washington
Campus where you can rent kayaks and row boats for afternoon boating through a World class Arboretum.
Hotels can be found through the city of Seattle but most of the major hotels are grouped together in the Downtown area,
in a location that is convenient to the city's shopping and restaurants district. In this area you will find the
Westin,
Mayflower Park Hotel and the
Four Seasons,
all high-quality Seattle hotels within easy walking distance of Pacific Place Shopping Center, Westlake Center,
Nordstrom and Pike Place Market. Near the Washington State Convention Center, you'll find the
Sheraton and the
Seattle Hilton.
Also nearby are the
Hotel Monaco.
