An intimate boutique hotel, situated in the buildings of a secluded, authentic 19th-century hacienda. The sweeping grounds provide a great array of excellent facilities for guests. 

The rooms:

  • 28 guest rooms only, sprawled over the whole estate 
  • Very spacious, with 18-foot ceilings 
  • In the interior you can see the estate’s past, it is mostly meticulously kept-up traditional furniture with tasteful touch-ups that make its style more than up-to-date

The amenities:

  • Gardens, open spaces, indoor hammocks, and even a 17th-century chapel
  • Spa in an underground cavern, fitness area, and an outdoor swimming pool 
  • Restaurant and bar on-site
  • Additional hotel features, such as 24-h front desk, gift shop, car rental, and babysitter service

The estate was formerly owned by Pablo Escobar and has been bought and transformed into a luxurious hotel by art dealer Lio Malca. Artworks of the hotel include pieces of his personal collection.

The style:

  • Polished grey concrete with at times eccentric, colorful art pieces 
  • Industrial flair stands in harsh contrast to the ocean views and white sand surrounding
  • An artistic collection of modern art and an array of furniture borrowed from all centuries

The rooms:

  • 71 suites and beach rooms
  • Spacious, that feeling gets even supported by the glass fronts
  • Large bathrooms with rain showers
  • All rooms have a comfy lounging area and contain unique artworks, AC, and balcony or terrace

The facilities:

  • 3 pools, one of them in a blue underground cavern 
  • Rooftop terrace
  • Until recently no gym or spa, currently a spa with fitness room is being setup 
  • The Caribbean ocean is just 25 yards away
  • Next to the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve
  • Yoga lessons and massages can be arranged
